Nerds existed; even during 30,001 BC!
Cub is a member of a tribal community in Africa during the Stone Age. He's a strapping young man with a tool kit that holds an assortment of technology that only he understands.
Wolf, shaman of the tribe, is Cub's father and is concerned that Cub may not become the leader he should. Wolf decides to remedy that by ordering Cub and three other men of the tribe to search for better hunting and gathering grounds. Cub finally gets his head out of his toolbox and into nature, as a hunter and man. As far as Wolf's concerned, that's what his son should be doing.
Cub and his posse cross the narrow strait dividing Africa from Europe, where they are captured by Neanderthals. The Neanderthals realize what a catch Cub really is - not only is he the son of a shaman - but his intelligence will be of great benefit to their village. As Cub becomes a member of the community, he matures into a man. Using his wits more than his brawn, he meets his first love and carves out his own place as a leader.
