In his dressing room with only his dresser for company, ageing actor Richard 'Dickie' Rorke waits on the eve of his final performance. Rorke is of a different time, a time where boozing and frolics were a perquisite of the acting profession. He's an old 'hellraiser' who will not let go of the 'good times' which makes him all the more tragic as he faces the inevitable changes of the modern world. Even the theatre in which he is about to perform is due for closure despite the ten decades of memorable shows and iconic actors which have graced its stage.
