This book is the harvest of a group of research that was placed during the years of the First World War, at the request of the British Ministry of War, for topics related to Iraq and the surrounding regions, to help officers and soldiers participating in the British military campaign in Mesopotamia in identifying the population and the geographical nature of the country, and its future capabilities. The book was published in the English language by the government press in Basra in 1917. The first part of the book, entitled, "Arabs of Mesopotamia", includes ten articles, written in Basra during the year 1916, most of them by the Miss Grerat Will. It dealt with a general description of the population of Iraq, the distribution of Iraqi tribes and tribes, the harsh conditions under Turkish rule, and the relationship with the Arab tribes in the Mahmoudiya, the Gulf and Najd, as I wrote about the visit of Prince Abdulaziz Ibn Saud to Basra in the year 1916. As for the second part, it is entitled "Turkey Asian ", it includes seven articles placed by Greratrod Bell in Baghdad in 1917. This research deals with the title of the Asian states in the Ottoman Empire. It describes the geographical nature, the distribution of the population and the economic importance of the Arab states in Iraq and Syria, and the Turkish states in Asia Minor and the struggle.
