Although two of the women characters depicted in this story were based loosely on real women, this is a work of fiction and not to be regarded as a history book, nor a journal of their lives. It is hoped that readers can get a feeling for some of the struggles and dangers those Mail Ordered Brides, as well as all the early women pioneers, were up against. Mail Ordered Brides were a necessary commodity in a land where women were few and far between. Especially since making a living was hard and time consuming. Enough so, a lot of men just didn't have time to go 'courting'. Thus, the Mail Ordered Bride filled a niche in the 'Wild West'.
