When a colt named Impressive Bravado is attacked in his stall, Deputy Sheriff Shallamon calls Dr. Katie McCarty DVM for help. This is the second attack in just a few months. What kind of madman would sneak into horse stall in the middle of the night? Will they strike again? Are human lives in danger, too?
What Katie finds is a recipe for disaster - a woman calling herself a "Horse Whisperer," a show barn full of teen girls, half-trained stallions and an old stallion of a discredited line. Adding to the confusion are the typical rivalries of the horse show world and her father's palomino stallion Topper.
Katie lived around these people all her life - it's inconceivable that someone would attack not one, but two colts. Who is behind these attacks? Will they strike again? Can this 'Horse Whisperer' really control a stable full of rambunctious colt?
