The first anthology of the Pit Zone, the primary host, the Pitster, introduces the Pit Zone and then takes a train ride to Pit 2, a pit school. In Pit 2, rather than smashing lava, Crusty students have a chance to host and tell a story, but not without consequences. After the Pitster explains the rules, a story of interesting characters fades in. At the end of the story, the Pitster makes comments, and then all of this fades out.
Rooster Kuhn, a.k.a. Tatman, is a special ops detective. He is on vacation in a hidden safe house somewhere in Yosemite California after arresting the infamous Billy F(X), a cartel kingpin. When in prison, Billy F(X) cuts a deal with CIA to make it look like he broke out of jail. CIA terms: move out of earth and help tame the Martian Republic from their ruthless cartels.
Once freed from prison escape, Billy F(X), takes it upon himself to kidnap Rooster's fiancé and trace her cell phone to Rooster's location. Billy F(X) flies in an armed helicopter for his revenge with the goal to take Rooster out. Once there, Rooster's fiancé, Betty, falls to her death off the helicopter trying to warn Rooster.
Billy F(X) shoots off a missile into Rooster's cabin, thinking it's all over for Rooster. Rooster manages to escape, and now really wants his revenge and is highly motivated to recapture Billy F(X).
Rooster transfers from detective special operations and joins up with the Space Bureau of Investigations to reconnect in the eventual capture of Billy F(X). The Vampiders, once human females, bit by a vampire spider, are special government spy agents from the Secret Secrete Service. They are there to make sure Rooster arrests Billy F(X) only under the right circumstances. When Billy F(X) throws out the Rooster and the Vampiders off the starship at 15,000 feet in the Martian atmosphere, Rooster gets his chance to go after Billy F(X) to rearrest him the legal way.
