Joanne Robertson-Eletto is an Associate Professor of Education in the Master of Science in Teaching Literacy Program, at Touro College Graduate School of Education, as well as an author and literacy consultant. She received her doctoral degree in Reading, Language, and Cognition from Hofstra University. Since then, she has published extensively and presented her research at national and international conferences. Her current research explores the social-emotional components of early language and literacy development. In addition to her scholarly publications, Dr. Robertson-Eletto wrote two children's books - Rocky the Okeeheelee Bandit and Barry: From Puppy to Patriot. Her current picture book, The Littlest Coo, showcases her own watercolor illustrations. She reviews and critiques children's literature at her own blog, www.thebookteacher.comMary P. Esposito's professional background encompasses more than 27 years within the New York City Department of Education as a Reading Coach, Literacy Staff Developer, Mathematics Coordinator and teacher of grades one, three, five and six. Dr. Esposito completed her doctorate as Doctor of Philosophy in Education with a specialization in Curriculum and Instruction. Dr. Esposito is a full-time Associate Professor in Touro College Graduate Literacy Department. She has experience as a Practicum Adviser and has taught Education 667, 619, 618, 665, 609, 605 and 677 face-to-face and is currently teaching online courses. Dr. Esposito has a true passion for literacy focused on improvement of effective instructional performance by focusing on metacognitive processes.
