Justin Gloe graduated from Missouri State University in May 2014 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Illustration. He wrote and illustrated Little and the Moon for his senior practicum project and went on to win second place in the juried exhibition for his work. Brought up on a rural Missouri farm, Justin adventured through the solitary fields, forests, and hills of the area as a child. The inspiration for Little and the Moon comes from these escapades. Justin currently resides in Springfield, Missouri with a spunky wiener dog, two arrogant felines, and one really annoying neighbor.
