The average day in a forest ranger's life is pretty mundane. Slade Valdez finds fun and companionship with other rangers and their families at gatherings and picnics, until the day he spots a forest fire. He calls it in and goes to stop it from spreading. Suddenly trapped by the rapidly burning fire, all he can do is take cover and pray he survives.
